The Peak District
Tuesday June 20, 2017 We woke up at the monastery, packed, grabbed some food, and took a quick walk around the grounds before heading out. I must say, it was a very pretty campus. John was nice and took me on the scenic route through the Peak District on the way to Stannage Edge where we planned to meet up with the Ogles. The route took us from Homfirth across the district to Glossop and then made a nearly 180 turnabout down to Bamford and Heathersage before arriving at the Stannage Edge parking lot. It was quite beautiful and scenic, plus it helped us stay off the busier main highways. Weird thing we noticed about the UK, the smaller and more twisty the roads the higher the speed limit! To the point that it gets ridiculous, I don't know how people are able to go that fast on those roads (or if they even do). We did pull off once and a pretty good overlook, but, unfortunately, it was kind of hazy that morning so the views weren't as good as they normally are I'm sur...
